Commuting to Campus

Penn State Berks offers commuter students educational, social, developmental, and informative programs to help students feel connected to campus, discover involvement opportunities, and learn about campus life programs.

In addition, the Student Government Association has several commuter student representatives within the general assembly.

Whether you are attending Penn State Berks full- or part-time, in evening or day classes, you are encouraged to download the Penn State Go app. Contact the Campus Life Office Perkins Student Center Room 19 at 610-396-6076 to find out more information about services available to you.

Facilities Available:

Thun Library and Information Commons

The Thun Library and Information Commons is the main destination when students want to study or take a break between classes. It has individual desks, study rooms that you can reserve, and a Media Commons that features a multimedia studio, an instructional design lab, and computers.

Research Coaches are available to help students, and the IT Help Desk is also located in the Thun Library, and is available to any student who needs help or wants to reserve a laptop.

Multipurpose Room, Perkins Student Center

The Multipurpose Room hosts several events on campus, but also serves as a prime hang out area. There are plenty of tables to work on group projects, couches and chairs for lounging while watching TV or a DVD, and wireless Internet access as well as standard access terminals.

Game Room, Perkins Student Center

You can visit the Game Room to play pool, ping pong, or any of the other games available. Wireless Internet access and standard access terminals work in the room as well.

Tully's, Perkins Student Center

Tully’s Café is our main dining hall. There are lots of options to choose from including the “Chef’’s Table” featuring “home-cooked” entrees; an extensive salad bar; deli, pizza; chicken tenders, burgers and fries; Creamery ice cream, and an omelet station.

Cybercafe, Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building

Finally, there’s the Cyber Café on the first floor of Gaige, which offers a wide selection of coffee and other Starbucks beverages, daily lunch specials, baked goods, Creamery Ice Cream, and grilled stickies–all of which can be purchased with campus meal card plans.

Beaver Community Center

The Beaver Community Center features a full weight room and cardio facility to help meet all your fitness needs. Our athletics and recreation facility is currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion, which will double the space. It is set to be completed by early 2022. The new Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center will include an enclosed walkway connecting to the Perkins Student Center, which will include a convenience store. Information on how to use the BCC during construction is available at the Athletics website.
