Golden Opportunity for Persons 60 Years of Age or Older
Penn State's GO-60 Program at Penn State Berks waives tuition for up to six credits of enrollment and some fees for credit courses for individuals who are at least 60 years old. The program is in effect only when classroom space is available. In addition to the age requirement, to qualify for the GO-60 program individuals must be retired or working less than half-time and must be a Pennsylvania resident or, if not a resident, a former Penn State student or past employee. GO-60 individuals also must meet any course prerequisites.
The program does not apply to courses, noncredit workshops, conferences, and other activities offered by Penn State Continuing Education.
"GO-60" students may audit a credit course, which means the student follows the regular registration procedure, but does not receive a grade for the course. "GO-60" students who wish to audit a course must notify the Registrar's Office at the time of a registration. You can contact the Registrar's office at (610) 396-6085.
"GO-60" students may apply for admission to Penn State Berks as a degree candidate under the policies and procedures of the University.
Enrollment in courses is on a 'space available' basis. GO-60 students may schedule courses in person at the Registration Office in Franco Building one week prior to the beginning of the semester.
A technology fee of $86 (subject to change) is charged for each semester of enrollment and is due within the first ten days of the semester.
