More than 300 female seventh-grade students from 19 schools around Berks County area attended the Careers with Math Options Conference on Wednesday, May 10, at Penn State Berks.
This year, five students at Penn State Berks received the University’s Erickson Discovery Grant for summer 2017 through the Office of Undergraduate Education. The campus had the highest number of recipients of any location outside University Park.
Penn State Berks will hold two information sessions for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program on Thursday, June 15, and Thursday, July 13, at 12 noon and 6 p.m. The sessions will be held in Room 120 of the Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building.
Penn State Berks offers a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related Middle School Youth Camps in a fun and relaxed environment. The camps are for students entering fifth through eighth grades in fall 2017. Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday through Friday.
The second summer sessions at Penn State Berks begins on June 26, 2017, and will run through August 3. Courses will be offered in a variety of disciplines including accounting, chemistry, information systems, math, business, English, communications, psychology, Spanish, and many others.
The Office of Continuing Education will hold an adult learner information session on Monday, July 10, 2017, beginning at 6 p.m. in room 101 of the Franco Building, Penn State Berks.
United Way of Berks County's Big Cheese event continues to grow, and this year's effort, which will draw 1,000 volunteers to package 500,000 meals, has been noted as the largest event of its type organized by a United Way, as well as the largest food packing event by any organization in the country's Northeast area, according to The Outreach Program. The Outreach Program is the national nonprofit organization that organizes food packing events with local organizations across the country.
This summer, approximately 1,000 first-year students who will begin their studies in the fall semester at Penn State Berks will get a preview of what college life will be like through the New Student Orientation Part 1: Advising & Scheduling (NSO1) program, which runs from mid- to late June, beginning on June 13, 2017.
Students who will be high school seniors and their families are invited to attend the Penn State Berks Spend a Summer Evening program beginning at 6 p.m. on July 19.
