Liz Neeley, executive director of the award-winning podcast "The Story Collider," will speak on this subject from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium at Penn State Berks. This event is free and open to the public.

Professors develop model to strengthen wireless network

Protecting and strengthening the security of wireless networks used by law enforcement, firefighters and emergency responders during natural disasters and minimizing damage to networks by terrorists and hackers — these are the two key issues addressed in a unique modeling approach developed by two professors, one from Penn State Berks and the other from Ontario’s University of Waterloo.

Berks students visit Salem to study witch trials

Would you dare to visit Salem, Massachusetts on Friday the 13th in October? Penn State Berks students majoring in communication arts and sciences and criminal justice did just that, taking to the streets of Salem to study the witch trials of 1692.

Hammel to speak at Berks' fall 2017 commencement

A new class of 164 Penn State Berks students will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the Beaver Community Center, when Berks hosts its fall 2017 commencement ceremony. The honorary keynote speaker this year will be alumnus Victor H. Hammel, chairman of Rentokil North America, and retired CEO of J.C. Ehrlich.

Berks celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Penn State Berks will hold a variety of events during the week of Nov. 13–19. The college has several lectures planned for aspiring student entrepreneurs and one event is open to the public. The events are sponsored in part by the Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development Center.

Students serve Thanksgiving dinner

Penn State Berks students will visit the Police Athletic Center in Reading to serve Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 16. Students will arrive at 4 p.m. and begin the day by doing crafts with the Olivet Boys & Girls Club youth and then serve Thanksgiving dinner.
