Ms. Amy White Berger is a full-time English Instructor at Penn State Berks. For the past twenty years she has collaborated with high school educators in developing English composition rubrics that better bridge the gap between the student performance that English teachers are looking for and the writing that students produce. Outside of composition and literacy, Amy's research focuses on an on-going study of Shakespeare's politics, specifically his subtextual investigations of a monarch's power and responsibility to his or her subjects. Amy spent parts of the summers of 2001 and 2002 at Oxford University examining the play "Hamlet" in this light. She is currently refining the manuscript that reflects her findings. Amy's work in the community includes coordinating the rejuvenation of libraries in the local prison and a synagogue and a church.
