Dr. Cesar Martinez-Garza is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Penn State Berks. Dr. Martinez-Garza teaches Calculus based Mathematics courses at the College. His research interests include Impulsive Hybrid Systems, Nonlinear Analysis, Supersonic Aerodynamics, Propulsion Systems, and Maya Archaeology.

As a graduate student at the Florida Institute of Technology, Dr. Martinez-Garza advised a multi-discipline group of 28 senior engineering students working on a fully instrumented, large-scale, high-power amateur rocket. Additionally, he and a small group of student members of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics spent 10 months building a 1/6 scale replica of the Wright Brothers "Flyer 1" aircraft in 2003. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of powered flight, the model was toured around local middle and high schools to promote Science and Engineering among pre-college students.

Currently, Dr. Martinez-Garza is working with undergraduate students using basic Calculus to design efficient rocket nose cones.

He also advises the Table Tennis Club at Berks.
