Dr. Kenneth Fifer is a Professor of English in the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences Division at Penn State Berks. Fifer’s most recent poetry collections are After Fire and Water Presents; he has edited three anthologies of poems by children; his poems have appeared in about 100 different journals and magazines, including California Quarterly, Barrow Street, New Letters, Partisan Review, and Ploughshares. He has a Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from The University of Michigan, where he also received two major Hopwood Awards. His areas of academic interest include 17th Century English Poetry, 20th Century American Poetry, and Contemporary American Poetry. In 2006 he was a finalist for the Barrow Street Press Poetry Prize.
