RoboCamp: Where Minds Meet Technology

RoboCamp: Where Minds Meet Technology

Camp Description

Come for a journey where imagination and the mind meet to make technology fun. This camp focuses on problem-solving as they sharpen skills in spatial reasoning and computational thinking. Campers will learn to design, program, and control fully functional EV3 robots, build fun circuits, learn 3D design and printing, and simple programming.

This camp is for kids who want to tinker with fun technology combined with practicing engineering concepts and the design process. Campers will work on numerous projects that provide hands-on experience. The main focus is all about learning the fundamental design and building of many types of LEGO robots and learning how to program and control their robots. Focusing on LEGO EV3 robots and programming software, campers will make their robots buzz and move while negotiating mazes, challenges, scavenger hunts, games and more. Several side courses of fun technology are included.

Campers will learn how to use functions of TinkerCad to produce 3D CAD models wherein the students will work towards 3D printing an artifact of their design. Other fun projects include building and learning to solve real-world problems by creating inventions using electronic building blocks called littleBits. Programming with Scratch utilizes creativity and computational concepts in a fun and meaningful context.

Campers will experience engineering and scientific problem-solving as they sharpen critical 21st century skills as they become more fluent in digital technology at the threshold of fun. They are after all, the Makers of Tomorrow.
