Derrik Reichard will graduate with a B.S. in Business, with a focus on Accounting, and the highest grade point average of all the Fall 2013 graduates?quite an accomplishment for this first-generation college graduate.
While attending Penn State Berks, Reichard completed an internship at RKL Accounting. He hopes to gain a position in corporate accounting or financial advising. His career plan is to work in his field to pay off his student loans, and then return to graduate school and eventually sit for the CPA exam.
His academic achievements were recognized with several academic awards including the President?s Freshman Award, the President Sparks Award, and the Evan Pugh Scholar Award. He is also a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
When he wasn?t studying, Derrick worked as a tutor at the college Learning Center. In the summer, he worked at the Reading Fightin Phils baseball team.
