'Penn State Night' at Reading Royals game to benefit THON

READING, Pa. — The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, the Penn State Berks Benefitting THON student group, and the Reading Royals, are teaming up for the seventh consecutive year to hold a fundraising event to benefit THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy dedicated to supporting children with pediatric cancer and their families. The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Tickets for the game are $16 for higher-level and $22 for lower-level general public seating.

A portion of every ticket purchased through the chapter or through the event website will be donated to THON, but tickets must be purchased through these channels to benefit Berks Benefiting THON and to receive the group discount rate.

The Reading Royals will wear special Penn State-themed jerseys for the game. This year, the jerseys will feature the traditional blue-and-white Penn State colors, with a gray accent, a lion print on each shoulder, the Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association logo on the lower back, and the Royals logo on the front center. This one-of-a-kind, game-worn jersey will be available through a special auction set up by the Royals via BidPal (bidpal.net/goblue), with a portion of the proceeds also going to Berks Benefitting THON.

The jerseys will be available for preview at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18. The jersey auction will go live starting immediately after the preview and it will end at 9 p.m. on Jan. 21. If the winner attends the game, the player (if available) will sign the jersey and will be available for a photo. If the winner is not in attendance at the game, the jersey will be mailed on the next business day.
