Tinkering with Tinker Bell

Tinkering with Tinker Bell

Camp Description

Come and tinker with technology at the Tinkerbell Camp, where we engage girls in activities designed to unleash their creativity, innovation and problem solving skills in fun and exciting ways. Campers will have the opportunity to explore and enhance tech skills or master those already familiar to them. Camp offerings focus on LEGO EV3 robot building and programming, exploring circuits, designing a wearable, learning how to design 3D objects, observing 3D printers in action, and using Scratch to learn programming.

Daily themes with numerous challenges, mission objectives, scavenger hunts, games and project building lessons will sharpen skills in spatial reasoning and computational thinking as campers work individually and in teams to develop skill sets needed to understand their future and actively participate and embrace technology. They are after all, the Makers of Tomorrow.
Campers will learn about sensors and design and build different types of robots then write LEGO computer programs to operate and control their invention. These robots will certainly shake, rattle and roll. We will utilize easy-to-use electronic building blocks empowering everyone to create inventions and understand circuitry. Programming is fun as campers program interactive stories, games and animations. Learning how to create 3D objects in a 3D design program will tap creativity and enhance spatial analysis in a fun and engaging manner.

This camp allows campers to experience problem solving and sharpen critical 21st century skills through fun and engaging technology. Come have fun while we tinker with technology and become more fluent in digital technology, Engineering concepts and the design process.
