Students travel to Poland to help preserve Auschwitz

This year, the Penn State Berks Alternative Spring Break program will take a group of seven Penn State Berks students and two staff advisers to Kraków and Oswiecim, Poland, where they will spend the week of March 4-11 focusing on remembrance and preservation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Holocaust site.

Grant builds bridges for future engineering students

Pradip Bandyopadhyay, division head of science at Penn State Berks, is working to help a future generation of engineering students to succeed. In 2015, he was invited to collaborate on a proposal titled “Sustainable Bridges from Campus to Campus: Retention Models for Transitioning Engineering Students.”

Berks raises $62K for THON

Five dancers and a busload of their supporters from the Penn State Berks community traveled to Penn State University Park campus to participate in THON during the weekend of Feb. 17-19. As a result of the 46-hour dance marathon and a year of fundraising efforts, Berks benefiting THON contributed $62,531.35, ranking third among Penn State campuses. THON raised a grand total of $10,045,478.44 million for the Four Diamonds Fund.

Creativity and Entrepreneurship Workshop slated for March 1 at Penn State Berks

The Flemming Creativity, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center will hold a Creativity and Entrepreneurship Workshop for Reading School District middle school students enrolled in the Penn State Educational Partnership Program on March 1. This program will bring PEPP students to Penn State Berks for the day with the purpose of introducing them to entrepreneurship.
