Senior Spotlight: Samantha Hagenbush

Samantha Hagenbush has built quite the resume during her time at Penn State Berks. She’s been a mental health advocate, a three-sport student-athlete, and a consistent leader of campus clubs and organizations. On Saturday, May 4, she’ll don a new hat — college graduate — when she earns her baccalaureate degree in kinesiology with a minor in psychological sciences.

Penn State Berks celebrates National Biomechanics Day

The workshops, conducted by Penn State Berks faculty and students, as well as clinicians from local hospitals, are for high school students with an interest in science and engineering and their applications to human movement. The event also included interactive laboratory activities, and school and career information.

Greater Reading Chamber Alliance president, CEO to speak at Berks commencement

A new class of nearly 250 Penn State Berks students will receive their baccalaureate and associate degrees at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Santander Arena in downtown Reading, when Berks hosts its spring 2024 commencement ceremony. The honorary keynote speaker this year will be Lucine Sihelnik, president and CEO of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance. Sihelnik is a leader in community and economic development and has spent the last 20 years working to advocate for sustainability in Berks County.

Summer Founders Program awards six student startups each with $15,000

Six Penn State student startups have been selected into the 2024 Invent Penn State Summer Founders Program. The Summer Founders Program provides teams with at least one Penn State student founder a $15,000 grant to work on their startup, social good, or nonprofit idea over the summer at Happy Valley LaunchBox powered by PNC Bank.

Penn State Berks Sustainability Council hosts Earth Day celebration, April 22

The Penn State Berks Sustainability Council will host an Earth Day celebration on Monday, April 22, from 10 a.m.–2:30 p.m. outside the Perkins Student Center. The celebration will include community organizations, educational presentations and stations, giveaways, prizes and light refreshments. This event is free and open to the community.

Penn State Berks theatre program presents ‘All in the Timing’ and ‘Love Kills’

Penn State Berks will present its spring mainstage theatre production of select one-act plays from "All in the Timing" by David Ives and “Love Kills” at 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, through Saturday, April 13, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $10 for the general public and $5 for the campus community with a Penn State ID.

Penn State Berks to host Pride Prom on April 21

In honor of Penn State’s Campus Pride Month, Penn State Berks will host its first Pride Prom beginning at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Multipurpose Room 2 of the Perkins Student Center. The event is open to the public (18 and older).
