Creating a Sustainable Organization: A Strategic Approach
Sustainability has been defined as having "an organization that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs". This interactive workshop will focus on the construction of a strategic business approach that a company can follow to define and plan sustainable practices from design to delivery in their supply chains.
Included will be the explanation of a corporate approach to create goals that will benefit both the company and society. The presentation of a Sustainable Management System Model will give attendees a template to take back to their businesses and work to establish this standard. Discussion will include current sustainability guidelines such as ISO 14000 and 26000, Social Accountability 8000, the UN Global Compact, and the Green SCOR Model.
Who will benefit from this workshop?
Management professionals who are responsible for procurement, engineering, research and development, manufacturing, distribution, sales and marketing, and global supply chair planning.

The workshop registration will begin at 8:00 AM; the workshop will run from 8:30-12:30 PM in the Janssen Conference Center located at Penn State Berks. The registration fee is $295 and includes a continental breakfast.
