The Penn State Berks Kinesiology department will lend their expertise to UGI Energy Services for their first Health/Wellness and Small Business Fair on Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 7:30 a.m.?1 p.m. at their headquarters, located at One Meridian Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA.
Faculty and student members of the Penn State Berks Kinesiology Department will offer tests and measurements, followed by a complete review and interpretation of all results, which will be discussed with the employee.
Through a variety of tests and measurements, faculty and students will assess health on multiple levels, including:
? bioelectrical impedance used to measure BMI, skeletal muscle, body fat, body age, and visceral fat;
? medical grade blood pressure and pulse measurements;
? biometric measurements of weight, height, and waist and hip circumferences;
? flexibility and balance testing following the American College of Sports Medicine guidelines; and
? postural analysis.

About the Penn State Berks B.S. in Kinesiology
Penn State Berks offers the B.S. in Kinesiology with the Exercise Science Option. The degree program provides students with an academic background in the science of human movement. The Exercise Science Option has two emphases: Business or Science. The Business Emphasis is unique in its coverage of the basic business skills of accounting, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. The Science Emphasis focuses on kinesiology content and basic science courses such as chemistry, biology, physics and math.
Penn State Berks and Alvernia University have recently signed a joint agreement centered around Alvernia?s new Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. According to the agreement, a minimum of five seats in Alvernia?s DPT program are reserved for qualified students graduating from the Penn State Berks B.S. in Kinesiology degree program. In return, students in Alvernia?s DPT program will gain access to Penn State Berks? cadaver laboratory for their first-year anatomy course.
