Alumni and friends golf outing rescheduled

The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association has rescheduled its 27th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner for Monday, June 23, 2014, at Golden Oaks Golf Club. The outing was originally scheduled for Friday, May 16, but was postponed due to rain. The golf tournament is a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and the registration fee is $105 per person.

All proceeds from the outing will benefit the Chapter?s scholarship fundraising drive. Over the last three years, this event has helped to raise over $15,000 for the Chapter?s endowed scholarship fund. The fund will assist deserving students from Berks County to attend Penn State Berks.

Special guests Keith Urgo, Penn State Men's Basketball Associate Head Coach, and Tim King, Penn State Men's Ice Hockey Radio Broadcast Color Analyst, will be on-hand to meet and greet attendees throughout the day?s events. The outing will be followed by a dinner, award ceremony, and silent auction.

The Chapter is seeking event sponsors and autographed memorabilia, sports items, or other ?large? prizes for their post-outing silent auction. Donors of these items will receive recognition in the event program and at the auction table.

Participants must complete the registration form by June 16. For more information or to obtain a registration form, contact Shawn Hinkle, Berks County Chapter of the PSAA president, via e-mail at [email protected] or visit the Chapter?s golf tournament web site: psuberkschapter.com/golf.
