Langan LaunchBox debut

Community members and county officials joined Penn State Berks faculty, staff and students, as well as Penn State Health St. Joseph physicians and administrators, for the inaugural event announcing the Langan LaunchBox on Oct. 25.

Penn State Berks to host PSPA journalism competition

On Nov. 4, approximately 100 southeastern Pennsylvania high school students will attend a half day of professional development, writing competitions and networking presented by the Pennsylvania School Press Association. The event will be held at Penn State Berks beginning at 9 a.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium.

Berks benefitting THON holds Showcase of Art on Nov. 2

Penn State Berks benefitting THON, a student group, will hold a “Showcase of Art,” which will display selected work submitted by fourth-graders in Berks County school districts, from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Janssen Conference Center, Penn State Berks. This event is free and open to the public.

Global Oscars comes to Berks on Nov. 17

This fall, as part of the global studies degree program's "Global Oscars Comes to Berks," Penn State Berks will present two films: "A War" on Thursday, Nov. 17, and "Son of Saul" on Thursday, Dec. 1, both at 6 p.m. in 121 Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. All four films are free and open to the public.

Author to speak about power of resilience on Nov. 15

Dave Pelzer will discuss the importance of resilience and perseverance as he divulges his own personal history at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This lecture is free and open to the public, but due to the sensitive nature of his lecture, audience members be at least 18 years old.

Prospective students invited to application workshop

Prospective students are invited to an application workshop at Penn State Berks from 10 a.m. (registration starts at 9:30 a.m.) to noon Saturday, Nov. 12, in 121 Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building, located just off Broadcasting Road in Wyomissing. Admissions counselors will assist students with the application process and answer questions.

Penn State Berks hosts film screening of 'Racing to Zero'

Penn State Berks will host the screening of the film "Racing to Zero," followed by a presentation by Jane Meeks, executive director of the Berks County Solid Waste Authority, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in room 5 of the Luerssen Building on the Berks campus.
