Prospective students and their families are invited to a visitation program at Penn State Berks at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Perkins Student Center, located just off Broadcasting Road in Wyomissing.
Beginning in mid-September, Penn State Berks will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of events; each event is intended for a specific audience, including prospective and current students, the campus community, and the general public.
The craft brewing industry is big business in Pennsylvania, and a recent grant will allow Penn State Berks to develop a program of craft brewing courses, with an emphasis on the use of Pennsylvania-grown specialty grains.
Nicole Heker explains that it was a ‘journey of unlearning’ that originally took her from Penn State Berks to Thailand. From there she moved on to Indonesia, to India, and back to Thailand — where she began 15-month solo bicycle excursion that ended in Portugal, passing through several other countries. "Within your family and within society, there are whispers about who you are. You only become aware of them when you step outside your comfort zone.”
Penn State Berks is reaching out to the local community through "LionSide Chats," a modern interpretation of former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Depression-era “Fireside Chats.”
