About the Program
The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Mechanical Engineering Review is designed for engineering graduates and practicing engineers who are preparing to take the FE Mechanical Exam, an important step toward obtaining Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
This comprehensive review course focuses on the mechanical engineering topics covered on the FE exam and is intended to help participants refresh their knowledge, strengthen problem-solving skills, and improve their exam readiness. Since participants have previously completed coursework in these subject areas, the course serves as a structured review of key concepts and principles commonly tested on the exam.
Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on engineering problem-solving techniques, exam preparation strategies, and the application of concepts through practice questions and example problems representative of those encountered on the FE Mechanical Exam.
Passing the FE exam, administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), is an important milestone on the path toward professional engineering licensure.
About the Instructor
This course is taught by Dr. Tengxiang Wang, an assistant teaching professor of engineering at Penn State Berks. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, and earned a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University. His expertise lies in computational solid mechanics and thermomechanical analysis. He has been teaching the FE Mechanical Review course for engineering students and working professionals since 2025.
