Berks students go to Puerto Rico for Alternative Spring Break experience
While many students enjoy their spring breaks with their families and friends or travel to a beach, eight Penn State Berks students, joined by a few students from Penn State Abington, decided instead to travel to Puerto Rico to be of service to the local community, where they sowed seeds at a farm, worked at an animal shelter and learned about Puerto Rico’s history.

Penn State Berks students to participate in NSF research experiences
Two Penn State Berks students will conduct research related to drug exposure and ovarian cancer treatment as part of their U.S. National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates this summer. Daniel Abramov and Lauren Conrad, biochemistry and molecular biology majors who have conducted research at Penn State Berks, are also Schreyer Scholars and Penn State Berks Cohen-Hammel Fellows.
