Scholarships & Awards

At Penn State Berks, we offer several different scholarships and awards to incoming and current students.

Scholarships and awards for first-year incoming students

First-year students admitted to Penn State Berks are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. For the best chance of receiving a merit-based scholarship, we strongly recommend that first-year students complete and submit their admissions application along with any supporting materials by Penn State's November 30 priority application deadline.

Merit-based scholarships are awarded upon review of academic credentials shown in the admission application. Students do not apply for these scholarships. Students are also considered for a variety of University awards that are based on such things as merit, financial need, and more. It is required for most awards that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is submitted by December 1.

Scholarships and awards for transfer incoming students

Transfer students offered admission to Penn State Berks are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships as well as University awards. Merit-based scholarships are awarded upon review of academic credentials shown in the admission application.

Transfer students are also considered for a variety of University awards that are based on such things as merit, financial need, and more. It is required for most awards that the FAFSA form is submitted by December 1.

Transfer students are encouraged to work with Bradley Simko at [email protected] or 610-396-6465 to further discuss transfer scholarship and award opportunities.

All students who qualify for a scholarship or award will receive a letter and/or separate from the admissions packet and their Penn State Financial Aid Package.

Scholarship eligibility requirements for returning Penn State Berks students

Current students who would like to be considered for our various campus scholarships must complete a FAFSA and are strongly encouraged to complete the Penn State Berks Returning Student Scholarship Application by May 1.

It is not required to submit an application to receive a Returning Student Scholarship. You may receive a scholarship without it, but for the best chance of receiving one at the maximum amount, it is in the student's best interest to complete and submit the application.

Applications will become available on March 1 and must be submitted by May 1. Awards are based upon demonstrated academic performance and financial need. Most campus-specific scholarships are not automatically renewable. Students will be considered each year.
