Artists' Opportunities

Art and Science Project

Student works in the sciences.

Our newest opportunity for artists is:

Art and Science, a collaboration between distinguished faculty from our Science Division at Penn State Berks and selected artists

The exhibition will be held in January of 2013.

To be considered, interested artists will:

  1. Submit 3 images (jpegs) of current artwork, a brief statement about their work, and a statement regarding interest in this project. You will have a choice of an individual or several faculty members, and will be sent a link for YouTube to view short interviews about the faculty, their research and teaching at Penn State Berks.
A committee of invited artists and faculty will help select the artist for the exhibition; you will be asked to submit a proposal/sketch of your submission concept. In some cases, artists may be scheduled to meet with or otherwise communicate with a faculty member should more information, visuals or documentation from that faculty member be needed to create their project.
  2. Selected artists will be given an honoraria for completion of the art work, delivery and pick up of art work. Artists will have the opportunity to give a short gallery talk about your work at the reception if possible. Honorariums are processed after the exhibition. You will also be asked to do a short video interview upon completion and delivery of the artwork for our publicity and public relations. Invitations, media coverage, and reception provided by the Freyberger Gallery, Penn State Berks. All forms of visual art will be considered.
