Cultivating Creativity for Young Authors

Cultivating Creativity for Young Authors is geared towards middle school students that have an interest in exploring their creative side and would like to develop their writing skills at a young age. Our instructor, Penn State's Berks very own alumna, Katarina Illona, embraces creative thinking and has authored and published Bedtime Tails:  A new Adventure.  It's a story about Perkins the cat and how his life changes with the new addition of Daisy to the family--an important lesson of accepting and welcoming others.

Participants will be exposed to crucial story elements including story components, setting, themes and lessons, characters, storyline time periods, descriptive passages and how they come together to form a written work.  By incorporating discussions, hands-on activities and daily projects, participants will develop an understanding of these elements and develop a story idea of their own, with characters, descriptions and important themes!

Cultivating Creativity for Young Authors will help you explore your imagination and creative writing mind!
