Camp Description
Students will embark on a story telling journey using multi-media resources, fun web sites and film-making applications. They will have the opportunity to work independently or as part of a peer group to learn about, produce, create and share a movie using iMovie software. Students will be introduced to technology that will enable to them to create avatars, animated characters, explosions, and other film-making fun. They can use their own creativity as they use stop-motion sets, a green screen, 360 video, and other resources to tell a story worthy of sharing with an audience.
Students will create scripts, backgrounds, and dynamic storylines as they incorporate literacy and technology principles. The week includes guest speakers to help illustrate the extent of the different software available, a field trip to view a feature film, and hands-on lab time to practice with different forms of multi-media and technology resources. The week wraps up with a movie premier and reception presenting the feature films created by the student. Students only need a sense of adventure to bring a story to life!
Activities described are general topics and are subject to change at the instructor’s discretion.
