Welcome to the Science Division at Penn State Berks!
We are excited to welcome you to our community of curious minds, problem solvers, and innovators. As a student in the Science Division, you are joining a tradition of academic excellence, hands-on learning, and discovery that is at the heart of Penn State.
Here, you will find dedicated faculty who are not only teachers and mentors, but also active researchers committed to advancing knowledge in the fields of mathematics, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, physics and health sciences. You’ll have opportunities to participate in research, internships, and community partnerships that connect your classroom learning to the real world.
At Penn State Berks, you will have the opportunity to complete four-year undergraduate science degrees in Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Kinesiology, and Integrative Science, as well as a two-year Occupational Therapy Assistant associate degree. Each of these degrees will prepare you as a life-long learner of science no matter what you choose to pursue after graduation. Increasingly, students who begin their studies at Berks often decide to complete their science degrees while staying at our campus for the duration of their chosen degree program. I invite you to learn more about our science degree programs and explore the opportunities offered by each program. Students graduating from our science programs are well positioned to secure employment in public and private sectors or continue further studies at the appropriate graduate and professional schools.
Many students take advantage of our 2+2 degree plan, allowing you to begin your first two years of study for most baccalaureate science degrees at Berks and complete your degree program at another campus, such as University Park (The Eberly College of Science, College of Health and Human Development).
Regardless of your destination, we encourage you to take full advantage of the resources available — whether that’s working in our labs, engaging in student organizations, or collaborating with peers across disciplines. The journey ahead will challenge you, but it will also inspire you to grow, explore, and make an impact.
Welcome to Penn State Berks and to the Science Division. We are so glad you’re here and can’t wait to see all that you will accomplish.
We Are… Penn State!
