Health Services: Insurance

Please check with your health insurance benefits representative to determine the extent and/or limitation of benefits if you have coverage with a managed care company (HMO, PPO) or private insurance.

Your primary care provider may need to approve treatment outside your service area. It is the responsibility of the student to know about any insurance limitations/requirements prior to service.

Health Services is not responsible for any fees for health care services not covered by the student's insurance.

The Health Center does not bill insurance companies. You will be responsible for submitting your bill for health services to your insurance carrier for reimbursement.

Students are urged to protect themselves against medical expenses that may result from injury or illness by arranging for personal coverage. Penn State does have a Student Health Insurance Program available for students who are without insurance.

Information and online enrollment can be obtained at: http://studentaffairs.psu.edu/health/services/insurance. The Penn State Student Health Insurance office can be reached by phone at 1-814-865-7467, by fax at 1-814-863-1390 or by e-mail at [email protected]
