History of Freyberger Gallery

Students viewing artwork in Freyberger Gallery

The Freyberger Gallery was dedicated to and named in honor of Dr. Ruth Freyberger. Through a generous endowment, Dr. Freyberger established the Freyberger Gallery over 30 years ago. In addition, she provided for funding of gallery exhibitions, art purchases and commissions. Within Reading and Berks County, the Freyberger Gallery is recognized for its dedication to the arts. The gallery has become a meeting point between campus and community, and successfully underscores the power of art to begin dialog among individuals about art, society, and culture.
