Penn State Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and Penn State Berks hosted the Berks County Community-Driven Research Day on May 14, 2025. Community-engaged research creates better results by encouraging collaboration between researchers and community partners throughout the research process. The event's facilitated discussions provided Berks County community leaders the opportunity to connect with Berks County health leaders and providers and Penn State faculty from Berks, University Park, Harrisburg, and Hershey campuses who share similar community health interests.

Barron announced some salary adjustments; a 3% across-the-board cut to university budgets in the next fiscal year; and his intention to work with the Board of Trustees to freeze tuition for the 2020-21 academic year to limit student costs.
