Dr. Pradip K. Bandyopadhyay is the division head of Science and professor of physics at Penn State Berks, where he has worked since 2006. Prior to this appointment, he served as the area chair of natural science at Hendrix College, Arkansas, 2002-06, and as the chair of the physics department for seven years. He was promoted to full professor of physics at Hendrix in 2001.
Bandyopadhyay has been involved in teaching, research, and administration. He taught physics courses at all levels at Hendrix (1985-2006), and greatly enjoys the interaction with students in teaching and research. He has been awarded more than $1M in externally-funded research (NIH, NSF, and others), and his current research interest is in laser-assisted cancer therapy. Prior to that, he worked extensively on radiation damage in solids. He has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals, and made numerous presentations at the international and national meetings. He has also reviewed grants submitted to funding agencies, and served as referee for papers submitted to physics journals for publication.
