Biography
Christine Anderton joined the Penn State Berks community in August 2022 as an adjunct instructor. She has extensive knowledge of the juvenile justice system, currently serving as assistant chief juvenile probation officer for the Berks County Probation and Parole Department as well as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Applied Juvenile Justice Services.
Sitting on multiple state-wide committees, Anderton brings the most recent and relevant data and real-world application to her students, especially as it relates to evidence-based practices. She has also served as both a hostage negotiator and an Assistant Team Leader for the Hostage Negotiation Element of the county’s SWAT team, the Berks County Emergency Response Team (B.C.E.R.T.).
Anderton was also involved with the founding and continued monitoring of The Friends of the Berks County Emergency Response Team, which helps raise funds for the purchase of specialized equipment and training for the team.
