Elaine joined the Elementary and Early Childhood Education Department in August 2018 as the Student Teaching Supervisor. Elaine oversees the senior education majors in their student teaching experience within the Reading School District, as well as teaching coursework including Issues in American Education, Strategies in Classroom Management and Clinical Application of Instruction. 

Prior to joining the Penn State Berks family, Elaine served in various roles in public education throughout the state of Florida. She served as an elementary school teacher in the counties of Miami-Dade, Hillsborough and Pinellas. Within the school district of Pinellas County, Elaine served as an elementary curriculum specialist, assistant principal and school principal. 

Elaine was recognized in November 2018 by the U.S. Department of Education to accept the National Blue-Ribbon School Award as principal of Tarpon Fundamental Elementary in Pinellas County Schools. She was also honored to be named the Florida Association of Music Educator's Administrator of the Year in 2012. 

After extensive experience and opportunities in Florida, Elaine recently returned home to Pennsylvania to enjoy the countryside and give back to the surrounding community.
