SAT Prep Courses

Being prepared is the key to success and Penn State Berks is committed to providing an opportunity for students to review key concepts for the SAT exam by being able to ask questions and receive immediate answers, interaction with other students, and prepare with experienced live instructors. Our SAT Review is truly a review of Math and English concepts, in addition to students becoming familiar with the exam content, format and timing.

The SAT exam will test you on things that research shows have strong connections to college and career success. The key areas of review include Relevant Words in Context, Command of Evidence, Essay Analyzing a Source, Focus on Math that Matters Most, Problems Grounded in Real-World Contexts, Analysis in History/Social Studies and in Science, U.S. Founding Documents and the Great Global Conversation. These key areas of review will increase reading comprehension and understanding paired passages, improve math skills - familiarity with math grid and when to use a calculator; advantages and disadvantages of guessing; ways to reduce the time needed to answer questions; and scoring of the SAT exam and how to compute a score on sample tests. Students will take a pre-test and post-test; Students are given homework assignments between classes; and sample SAT exams are given as practice tests.

Our long standing SAT REVIEW class has successfully helped students prepare for the SAT exams by showing ways to improve effectiveness, efficiency and how to do an appropriate analysis of questions by using real SAT exam questions.

It is recommended that students registering for this course have completed at least 2 years of high school algebra and/or trigonometry.

The tuition fee includes the textbook and handout materials.
