RESCHEDULED: Penn State Night at Reading Royals to benefit THON

RESCHEDULED?Penn State Night at Reading Royals to benefit THON

Due to the impending snowstorm, Penn State Night at the Reading Royals has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 (originally scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23). For more information, email [email protected].

The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, the Penn State Berks THON student group, and the Reading Royals are teaming up for the sixth consecutive year to hold a fundraising event to benefit THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy dedicated to supporting children with pediatric cancer and their families, on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 7 p.m. at the Santander Arena in Reading. Proceeds from the first five years of this event have raised over $47,000 for THON.

Tickets for the game are $16 for the general public and $11 for Penn State students with a valid student ID. A portion of every ticket purchased through the Chapter or through the event website will be donated to THON, but tickets must be purchased through these channels to benefit THON and to receive the group discount.

The Reading Royals will wear special Penn State themed jerseys. This year, the jerseys will pay tribute to the ultimate beneficiary of the night's event, the Four Diamonds Fund. Each jersey will feature the blue and white Penn State colors, a lion paw print on the shoulder, as well as sets of four diamonds sublimated onto the front and back of the jersey. These one-of-a-kind, game-worn jerseys will be autographed by the players wearing them and auctioned off following the game, with a portion of the proceeds also benefiting THON. The Penn State Alumni Blue Band will also be present and performing during the evening.
