Rusted Root’s Jim Donovan brings drum circle experience to campus

Jim Donovan, former member of the three-time platinum award-winning band Rusted Root, will bring his world drum circle community music-making experience to campus on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 7:30 p.m. on the Perkins Student Center lawn. This is an interactive group event for all skill levels, including beginners, and drums and percussion instruments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public.

Donovan, M.Ed. in Leadership, is a master facilitator, inspirational trainer, and world-class musician with more than 25 years of teaching and performance experience. As a member of Rusted Root, he co-wrote and performed ?Send Me on My Way,? a song whose unforgettable whistle has been featured in both Matilda and Ice Age. While touring with Rusted Root, he had the opportunity to share the stage with rock legends such as Carlos Santana, members of Led Zeppelin, and Sting, among others. Today he uses that experience to teach others as a member of the faculty at Saint Francis University.
