V-Day Penn State Berks presents “The Vagina Monologues”

The Penn State Berks Theatre Department will present The Vagina Monologues, the award-winning play based on V-Day founder and playwright Eve Ensler?s interviews with more than 200 women, for one night, Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at 8 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and all ticket proceeds will be donated to Berks Women in Crisis, a local organization that aids victims of domestic violence and sexual assault and promotes educational programs on these issues.

Penn State Berks Theatre alumna Stefanie Thomas, Production Manager and Shop Supervisor for the college?s Theatre Department, is the director for this production.

With humor and grace, this piece celebrates women?s sexuality and strength. Through this play and the liberation of this one word, countless women throughout the world have taken control of their bodies and their lives. For more than a decade, The Vagina Monologues has given voice to experiences and feelings not previously exposed in public and brought a deeper consciousness to the conversation around ending violence against women and girls.
