Student veterans and dependents information session slated for Nov. 12

The Penn State Berks Veterans Advisory Council, in collaboration with the Penn State Berks Admissions Office, is hosting an information session for student veterans and their dependents to learn more about the benefits of the GI College Bill ® and Penn State Berks on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is free and open to current, prospective, and new active-duty, reserve, and military veteran students and their dependents. Light refreshments will be served.

The Veteran and Dependents Informational Sessions will bring together college and community representatives to discuss eligibility, community resources, and the application procedure for educational benefits for active-duty, reserve, or honorably discharged veterans and their dependents. Information sessions will include: Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits / financial aid, Veteran Affairs Health & Wellness, the admissions process / college credit for military experiences, a veteran and dependent student discussion panel, Veterans Affairs Community and Workforce Programs of Berks County, and an optional campus tour. Networking opportunities will also be available throughout the program.
