OT Assistant Program Awarded Maximum 10 Years Re-Accreditation from ACOTE

The Penn State Berks Occupational Therapy Assistant Program has been awarded the maximum of 10 years of re-accreditation by ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education), the national accrediting body for Occupational Therapy programs. The recent announcement is a result of the program?s self-study and on-site visit with ACOTE. The self-study was a process that took over a year-and-a-half to complete and culminated with a three-day on-site visit by members of the ACOTE accreditation team in April 2014.

The ACOTE process involved Penn State Berks faculty in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program, administration, students, alumni, members of the Occupational Therapy Assistant advisory board, as well as occupational therapy professionals from the community.

?The Occupational Therapy Assistant program benefited from the process and we are pleased with the very positive outcome,? stated Program Coordinator David Kresse, MS, OTR/L.
