College hosts presentation on dangers of Heroin

Detective Corporal Pasquale Leporace from the Berks County District Attorney?s Office and Penn State Berks Police Chief Kevin Rudy will give a presentation titled ?Heroin ? It?s Long, Deadly, Reach? on Monday, April 14, 2014, at 1 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public, and it is highly relevant for anyone working with youth.

State Senator Judy Schwank and District Attorney John Adams will also be in attendance during this presentation.

Heroin has made a comeback as a drug of choice with today's youth. It is cheap, accessible, and deadly. Almost daily, the news media features a story about a death from the use of heroin. The new trend of mixing the prescription drug Fentanyl with heroin is a particularly deadly combination. This informative and lively presentation about the new epidemic of an old drug may just save a life.
