Penn State Berks will host the Berks County MATHCOUNTS Chapter Competition on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Approximately 126 middle school students from various Berks County school districts will be on campus from 8 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center. The students will be competing to advance to the State MATHCOUNTS Competition, which will be held March 7-8 at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel.
The national MATHCOUNTS program is a cooperative project of Raytheon Company, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, CNA Foundation, Northrop Grumman Foundation, the National Society of Professional Engineers, the National Defense Education Program (NDEP), ThinkFun, Inc., 3M Foundation, and Texas Instruments, Inc.
