College holds Thanksgiving Dinner for international students

The Penn State Berks Multicultural Office will hold a Thanksgiving Dinner to introduce international students to this traditional holiday on Thursday, November 14, 2013, beginning at 6 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. This event is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty, and staff, and attendees must have a ticket for the event.

The event will feature a traditional Thanksgiving meal, prepared by Penn State Berks Food Services. International students will learn the history and evolution of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, and they will watch a video presentation of Penn State Berks faculty, staff, and students discussing their Thanksgiving traditions. In addition, Rodney Miller, Penn State alum, will play the guitar; INK (the Penn State Berks International Klub) will give a dance performance; and the Berks Choir will sing at the event.

Penn State Berks currently has forty-three international students. For more information or to receive a ticket for the event, contact Karen Kihurani, Coordinator of Multicultural Programs, at 610-396-6080 or via e-mail at [email protected].
