READING, Pa. — The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association will hold its 29th annual Alumni and Friends Golf Outing on Monday, July 18, at Golden Oaks Golf Club in Fleetwood. The golf tournament is a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The registration fee is $130 per person.
All proceeds from the outing will benefit the chapter’s scholarship fundraising drive. The chapter has already raised more than $33,000 toward their goal of $50,000. The fund will assist deserving students from Berks County to attend Penn State Berks.
Special guest speaker Paul Clifford, chief executive officer of the Penn State Alumni Association, will be on-hand to meet and greet attendees. The outing will be followed by a dinner, award ceremony and silent auction.
The chapter is seeking event sponsors and donations of autographed memorabilia, sports items or other “large” prizes for their post-outing silent auction. Donors of these items will receive recognition in the event program and at the auction table.
Participants must complete the registration form by July 1. For more information or to obtain a registration form, contact Mike Rowley at [email protected] or visit the chapter’s golf tournament website at psuberkschapter.com/golf.
