Penn State Berks to offer on-site document shredding Aug. 16

READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks will have a document shredder on campus for faculty and staff from 9 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Franco Building parking lot as part of its sustainability initiatives.

Document shredding supports Penn State’s sustainability efforts in multiple ways. First, it reduces the space required to store records that are no longer needed. Second, all shredded documents will be recycled. In 2015, Penn State Berks diverted a total of 576,000 tons of recyclable materials from landfills. Through reduction, reuse and recycling, Penn State Berks strives to move toward environmental sustainability.
