READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks benefiting THON, a student organization that helps to raise funds for the fight against pediatric cancer, is hosting their annual Cuts for Kids event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room.

Berks benefiting THON has partnered with United Artists Salon and Spa, located in West Reading, to provide discounted rates on professionally styled hair cuts, buzz cuts, and manicures. The prices are $5 for buzz cuts, $10 for haircuts, $10 for manicures, and $15 styled cuts.

Short for the Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, THON is a yearlong effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. THON's fundraising helps offset the cost of a child's cancer treatment and helps establish research endowments aimed at increasing the cure rates of pediatric cancer treatments.
