Hafer recognized by Penn State Educational Office Professionals

READING, Pa. — Sue Hafer, administrative support assistant for admissions at Penn State Berks, was honored with the Commonwealth Campus Outstanding Office Professional Award at an awards ceremony on May 18 at the Nittany Lion Inn. The award, presented by the Penn State Educational Office Professionals (PSEOP), recognizes an administrative support employee who has provided exceptional meritorious service on behalf of Penn State.

Hafer has provided 16 years of service to the Penn State Berks Admissions Office. In her position, she is responsible for a wide variety of functions, including administrative operations, responding to a variety of inquiries from parents and students, coordinating basic office activities, preparing and processing reports, coordinating meeting and program arrangements, and processing admissions mailings.

According to one nominator, “Sue is an integral part of the Admissions Office at Penn State Berks. Her years of experience, reliability, intelligence, passion, initiative and great sense of humor are the glue that holds our department together and keeps us moving forward — even in the most stressful of times and in the midst of so many changes at Penn State. She embodies all the qualities and characteristics that the award committee was looking for: initiative, leadership skills, self-improvement and volunteerism.”
