On-site document shredding at Penn State Berks

READING, Pa. — Penn State Berks will have an on-site document shredder on campus for faculty and staff from 9 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. Aug. 15, in the Franco Building parking lot as part of its sustainability initiatives.

Document shredding supports Penn State’s sustainability efforts in multiple ways. First, it reduces the space required to store records that are no longer needed. Second, all shredded documents will be recycled. In 2016, Penn State Berks diverted a total of 81.22 tons of recyclable materials from landfills, a decrease from the 97.46 tons recycled in 2015. Through reduction, reuse and recycling, Penn State Berks strives to move toward environmental sustainability.
