Runners who push a jogging stroller experience less impact per step, potentially reducing their overall risk for injury, according to a new study led by researchers from Penn State Berks.

Michael Fidanza, professor of plant and soil science at Penn State Berks, has been named president of the Philadelphia Society for Promoting Agriculture. He will serve a one-year term as the organization's 239th president.
A new exhibition in the Freyberger Gallery running this fall will highlight and honor the works of art created by Penn State Berks students and faculty. The exhibition runs from Oct. 4-Nov. 12, with an opening reception during Penn State Berks Homecoming on Oct. 4.

Penn State Berks is helping a future generation of engineering students to succeed through the college’s Engineering Ahead Program, which celebrated a decade of success this year. The goal of the four-week summer "bridge" program, which ran from July 7 to Aug. 1, is to increase retention rates among a diverse group of engineering students by enhancing academic preparedness and providing support.
The Berks LaunchBox powered by Penn State recently announced the pitch winners of its summer 2025 Lifestyle Pitch Competition. Prizes awarded to the first-, second- and third-place winners totaled $2,000 in seed funding, plus an additional $1,000 awarded to the remaining eight pitch contestants through $125 micro-grants and support from the Entrepreneur Assistance Clinic to help register an LLC or to put the funds toward other business needs.
Penn State Berks students and their family members, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to the college’s 2025 Family and Homecoming event, slated for Saturday, Oct. 4. This year’s theme is "Celebrating Penn State pride." The day will include activities for the entire family, as well as events targeted to students and families and to alumni. Most events are free and open to all attendees unless otherwise noted, however many require advanced registration.
The Penn State Berks Advisory Board welcomes eight new members, who were officially appointed by Penn State Interim Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses Renata Engel. The new members represent the fields of education, industry and the nonprofit sector and include alumni of Penn State Berks.
