Sarah Hartman-Caverly, reference and instruction librarian at Berks Thun Library, Penn State Berks, was recognized June 6 for her work co-leading a peer community that explores heterodoxy in the context and practice of academic librarianship. Hartman-Caverly’s community, Heterodox Libraries, received the inaugural HxA Community Excellence Award from the Heterodox Academy.

Penn State Berks will host its annual youth summer camps starting on Monday, June 17. Camp offerings are for elementary, middle and high school-aged participants and are on-site at the Penn State Berks campus in Spring Township, Pennsylvania.
Penn State Berks celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Careers with Math Options Conference on May 7. A record total of 200 seventh grade students and chaperones from 15 schools in and around the Berks County area attended the event. The mission of the event is to generate excitement for STEM topics early in young female students’ education.
