Penn State Berks will host two admissions events for high schoolers to get to learn about the college this summer. Prospective students and their families are invited to Spend a Summer Evening from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, or join the Spend a Summer Morning Information Session from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 2.
The 2025–26 faculty development program Privacy Pedagogy for Open Inquiry and Student Expression Project, led by a University Libraries team, seeks instructor applicants across the University who wish to emphasize student privacy in learning design and enhance civil, robust discussion in the classroom.
Six Penn State Commonwealth Campuses recently named faculty members as Open Champions, recognizing their work with open education in the fourth year of Penn State’s Open and Affordable Educational Resources Champion Awards.
Two Penn State Berks students will conduct research related to drug exposure and ovarian cancer treatment as part of their U.S. National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates this summer. Daniel Abramov and Lauren Conrad, biochemistry and molecular biology majors who have conducted research at Penn State Berks, are also Schreyer Scholars and Penn State Berks Cohen-Hammel Fellows.
Five faculty members were honored with awards at the end of the spring semester – three given by the University College for research, teaching and service, and two from the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses in recognition of innovative teaching practices to enhance student learning.
Penn State Berks welcomed approximately 200 seventh-grade students and chaperones from 14 schools in and around the Berks County for its annual Careers with Math Options Conference on May 13. Now in its 26th year, the event is designed to spark interest and excitement for STEM topics early in young female students’ education.
This summer, Penn State Berks offers the perfect mix of summer camp subject areas, from examining media and communication in the Swiftie Empowerment Experience, to exploring cybersecurity in the CyberPatriot Challenge, to putting engineering principles to work in Rocket Launchers, to learning about Geospatial Technology in the Drones, Satellites and Digital Mapping Camp, and so much more.
