Hospitality Management degree joins college’s academic offerings

Penn State Berks will begin offering the B.S. in Hospitality Management degree in the fall semester of 2015. The hospitality industry is a major economic driver in the Berks County area, and this degree program is offered in response to demand for graduates with degrees in the hospitality industry. Penn State Berks is the only campus outside University Park to offer this degree program.

Alumni and friends golf outing rescheduled

The Berks County Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association has rescheduled its 27th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner for Monday, June 23, 2014, at Golden Oaks Golf Club. The outing was originally scheduled for Friday, May 16, but was postponed due to rain. The golf tournament is a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and the registration fee is $105 per person.

Five named CIC Academic Leadership Program Fellows

The Committee on Institutional Cooperation's Academic Leadership Program has gained five additional fellows from the Penn State ranks. The CIC is the academic consortium of the Big Ten universities plus the University of Chicago. Through its leadership program, participants who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise are aided in further developing their leadership and managerial skills.

Student teachers and Glenside elementary school children build garden

Student teachers from Penn State Berks and elementary school students at Glenside Elementary School will see the fruit of their labors this Saturday, May 3, 2014, when the garden project they have worked so hard to revitalize is unveiled during a special Garden Party from 2-4 p.m. at the elementary school. This event is free and open to the public.

Accelerated Business Information Session scheduled for May 20

Penn State Berks will hold an online information session for its Accelerated Business degree program on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, from noon - 1:00 p.m. Attendees will learn more about how to complete 60+ business credits toward the bachelor's degree in Business in a 20-month, accelerated Saturday program.
