Abdullah Konak, distinguished professor of information sciences and technology at Penn State Berks, received the 2022 INFORMS Volunteer Service Award in October during the annual ceremony in Indianapolis.
The Penn State Berks global studies degree program will host a global forum with a presentation titled “Anatomy of Inflation: Local and Global” from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, in room 246, Gaige Technology and Business Innovation Building. The event is free and open to the public.
The Penn State Berks Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee will hold its annual International Thanksgiving Dinner and International Gala on Wednesday, Nov. 16, in the Perkins Student Center Multipurpose Room. The International Gala is a celebration of the different cultures represented by the student body and will include a student fashion show, cultural dance performances, and desserts from around the world. This event is open to Penn State Berks students, faculty and staff.
Penn State students, faculty and staff with older versions of the id+ card are being asked to submit new photos ahead of re-carding events that will be held University-wide during the spring 2023 semester. There are multiple ways to submit a photo, and photos will be accepted from Nov. 7 through Nov. 23.
Philanthropists with roots in the Reading region have stepped forward with gifts that will establish a total of $2.4 million in endowed support for the Berks LaunchBox powered by Penn State. The LaunchBox delivers a range of entrepreneurship and economic development resources for the Reading community.
